]]> On September 24, 2024, Rutgers hosted their inaugural innovation award ceremony at The President’s Tent in New Brunswick, N.J. where distinguished innovators were recognized for having developed a breakthrough idea, process, or technology that benefits society. The event also celebrated current Rutgers inventors who were issued U.S. patents during the fiscal years 2023 and 2024.

The winners were scored by experts based on competitive advantage, impact, utility and socio-economic value of the innovation, and significance of the problem solved.

The judge panel of experts included NJII Assistant Vice President of AI and Machine Learning, Thomas Villani, Ph.D., along with NJII Proposal Writer, Grants and Restricted Funds, William Reichert.

]]> There are some exciting changes to unveil for this year’s NJBIZ Forty Under 40 program, which honors individuals who are shaping the economic future of New Jersey. 

Launched in 2006, this event recognizes 40 professionals under the age of 40 for their notable successes and demonstrations of strong leadership in the state. 

An independent panel of judges chose honorees following an open nomination process. The individuals recognized this year contribute to their own industries – spanning health care, finance, real estate, law, education and more – as well as to the New Jersey community at large. 

The honorees are not only judged on their business accomplishments but also on their volunteerism, education and additional honors. 

All award recipients were required to be employed or self-employed living and working in New Jersey.
